Any Natural Remedies For Corns on Dogs Pads?

Just wondering if anyone has any natural remedies for corns on dogs pad. I have had this problem before and had them surgically removed - only for them to come back!

Any suggestions?

Just wondering if your dog's a greyhound because greyhounds get corns that are idiopathic? And surgery's both a waste of money and hard on the dog for no good reason because the corns come back.

According to an article written by Dr. Mark Rubensohn called 'Corns in Greyhounds', there's no permanent treatment. Some owners soak the foot, then shell the corn using dental elevators, topical use of Abreva, human corn and wart removers and laser surgery, but they come back.

You can buy padded boots called TheraPaws to help keep your dog comfortable.

My oldest grey had a corn on the large pad of his foot which actually came out after repeated soaking of his foot in epsom salts and just a bit of picking. So far, cross my fingers, it hasn't come back.

Is there any natural remedies for hair loss on Dogs?

My friends Malamute has hair loss in several spots. Its not red or infected so pretty sure its not Mange. The dog has also been taken off corn type dog food...any kind of natural remedies or vitamin type supplements anyone can advise?

Another good choice would be to mix fish oil with the dogs water, not too much. A half a tea spoon every week works wonders.

Corns refer to the thickening of skin over a large area called callosity. These are usually found over the joins of the toes and on the soles of the feet. It is caused as a result of pressure on the toes and skin surfaces of the feet, through incorrect footwear.
Some of the natural treatment of Corns can be:
1. First stop wearing the shoes that caused it.
2. Apply externally lemon
3. Raw Papaya
4. Oil extracted from the outer shell of the cashew nut (kaju), etc.

Corns, Calluses? What's the difference? Natual remedy to get rid of them?

What is the difference between the two?
I think what I have is corns, since I wear heels all the time.
Just wondering if there are any natural remedies to eliminate them?
Thanks folks!

Callused skin can refer to any area of the body where the skin becomes hard and thick, but calluses usually occur on different areas of the hands and feet. Corns are calluses, specifically, of the tops (knuckles) of the toes. I have always hated using the word corns to describe these calluses (yuck)!

Most callus and "corn" removers contain salicylic acid. I'm not sure if this acid can be considered "natural," but it's really the only thing that is capable of removing the hardened skin once it has already built up. Using a callus removal product will leave the callused skin very thin/white/soft, and then you can simply file it off.

Dr. Scholl's makes some comfortable toe strips, specifically for women, that are thin enough to wear with pumps, if you're looking for a good product.

The best natural way to prevent corns and calluses is to be proactive and take really good care of your feet (especially if you wear heels often). I wear heels every day, all day, and I make sure to scrub and pumice my feet every time I take a bath. Once a week I use a fine, metal file (available at any beauty supply shop) to remove any would-be calluses. My feet always stay soft, if I take special care of them.

If you like wearing open toed-shoes, or sandals that reveal a lot of your foot, taking regular care of your feet is even more important.

Hope this helps!

Is corn hair tea a natural diuretic remedy or is this a myth?

I was told to prepare some tea with the corn hairs and then add some of that tea to my drinking water throughout the day, so far I have been going more to the bathroom and the bloating has indeed subsided, I just want to know if anyone else has tried this with real results.

I have never heard of this but some good diuretics are blueberies and watermelon.
