If a child had issues doing to the bathroom regularly as a child (around 4), then had constipation that lasted for a month (not being able to regularly pass stool, then being ok, then being clogged up again, this pattern repeating) at 11, then has it again in their mid teens (15/16), could this be chronic? At 15/16 how can this be solved if they drink water, have fruit and fluids, are on medication but can't even go? Immune to meds? Is it possible that there is something actually wrong with the person's digestive system or colon? Is it a stress response?
Aside from apple and prune juice, what are other natural remedies? The Lemonade Diet (a lemon juice, grade B maple syrup, cayenne pepper drink) is supposed to stimulate bowel movements. Does it? Is green tea helpful? Other natural remedies or foods that really CLEAR OUT?
Is it also possible to experience severe bloating and stomach distention if one has not gone to the bathroom for three-six days? How can the bloating be reduced?
Water, fruit juice, fruits, fats, fiber, laxatives, suppositories; none of it works. Is there anything that is absolutely *sure* to clear it out? It's like a mass stuck...sorry, that's gross. Would hot water be better than cold?
My mom would swear by castor oil, it tastes yuck but helps relieve your kind of problem. U've got 2 take 2tsps at night.
Eat prunes and figs they are natural laxatives.
Eat fresh fruits and vegetables' grain and other high fibre food.
Take PSYLLIUM HUSK - can be got at a medical store - at night 2 tsp with hot milk.
Drink a lot of water, exercise, cut down on beef, pork any kind of red meat.
Eat whole wheat bread no refined stuff so no pizzas, white bread etc. Watch what you eat anything natural is good.
Start your morning with a glass of warm water 2 which the juice of a lemon and honey are added. Follow it with lots of water about 1 - 2 litres.
And go when you have to don't hold back.
Soon u'll start suffering from piles etc so take action quickly. Distention in your condition is normal because the waste starts 2 rot and produce gases.
www.totalwellnesscleanse.com - In episode #11 of "Ask Yuri" I deal with the issue that everyone "loves" to talk about ...
My boyfriend has experienced some problems with constipation in the past, so severe that I made him go see a doctor about it and they found that he has polyps in his colon and lower intestine (for sure his colon and I'm pretty sure they said his intestine as well but could be wrong about that). The doctor did a colonoscopy and on the follow up appointment she told him that he was fine, no cancer, and that he wouldn't need to come in for another colonoscopy for another couple of years.
Since then, he still frequently suffers from severe constipation. To the point where his abdomen is extended and swollen. We are both obviously concerned about this but the doctor told us he had nothing to worry about. He has a family history of colon cancer.
So, because of the discomfort he frequently experiences we want to try and treat the constipation ourselves. I don't think he should be relying on laxatives consistently so we want to be proactive. So my questions is if anyone has any natural remedies for constipation and bloating?
Cheers
As a chronic constipation suffer with hemorrhoids
my opinion have him buy colace , Its a stool softener
Its not a laxative , It should help him move within 12
hours of taking it , Yes being he has a history of
Colon cancer , He should see a Gastroentologist
this doctor studies whats going on with his colon
He could be at a early stage of the disease unfortunately
I think the doctor should be doing more testing Sometimes it takes quite sometime to properly diagnose
colon cancer , I know my family has a history of it

I am genetically predisposed to certain digestive problems...meaning chronic constipation, and I am only 15 years old.
For the past month or so, I am only able to pass stool once every few days. And most of the time, it's little shreds.
I finally decided it was due to lack of adequate exercise and fiber in my diet.
Will drinking plain green tea help?
Metamucil isn't working for me. I also heard the Extra Virgin Olive Oil can help too.
Right now, my main concern in life is getting myself unclogged.
Please help me!
I'd really hate to have to go to a doctor, and find out I have intestinal polyps or something.
Thanks.
If I had a ruptured colon, or something similar, I would be in so much pain right now, I'd be at the emergency room.
You can try the change in diet and see if it helps, however you should still see a doctor even though it's embarrassing. If not, you could end up finding yourself with a ruptured colon or intestine which is very serious if not fatal.
At the least, a doctor can give you better dietary advice than internet posters and also help rule out anything more serious. Just because you don't go to a doctor doesn't mean that you do not have a medical concern.

Ive been suffering from irregular bowel movements right from my childhood... basically ive a poor digestion strength and when i pass bowels in the morning, ill have an urge to fo it again after a couple of hours...this is really interfering with my life and can anyone please tell me some natural remedies so that i can get rid of this nasty problem of mine.
I'd suggest switching to a diet that is rich in whole grains (eliminate processed grains), leafy green vegetables and low in saturated fats. This along with the previous suggesstion of trying a yougurt with pro-biotics might be all you need to rid yourself of your problem. ?If this does not work, I'd suggest seeing a GI doctor.

Celiac Disease Health in Depth: Natural Remedies for Chronic ...
By Cleo Libonati, RN, BSN
About 20% of people with untreated celiac disease have chronic constipation instead of the classic symptom of diarrhea. As the rate of diagnosis improves, constipation is becoming recognized as a common symptom of celiac disease.
Constipation is a common problem in the general population of the United States. According to the National Institutes of Health, about 4 million people have frequent constipation. It is one of the most common digestive complaints in the United States, resulting in about 2.5 million doctor visits and 92,000 hospitalizations annually, although most people treat themselves. This high rate of constipation results in annual laxative sales of over $735 million in this country.
