I am prone to getting bronchitis which is made worse in the winter.
What herbal remedies will help it? Possibly cure it?
My bronchitis improved dramatically just by watching the air quality and the humidity inside. You can improve indoor air quality by moving to natural cleaning products instead of commercial products and being careful about burning candles, spraying fragrances, etc. Commercial products people think of as "clean" usually have warning labels telling you that they can e harmful. Run a humidifier and keep your humidity at 40%.

My mom has had bronchitis lately and it turned into asthma. I believe that I have caught bronchitis from her. Are there any natural remedies that will help this? I have had the pneumonia shot so it should not develop into pneumonia. I absolutely hate being on antibiotics so any other options would be great. It is the first day so it should be very easily treated.
well it is a good thing that u got the pneumonia shot , but the reality is that just because you got the shot doesn't mean that you can get pneumonia and for asthma there's no natural cure for it. you really need to see a doc and get some chest x-rays

Some cures for the poor college kid. I keep getting sinus problems, on a regular basis I take Clariton D but now I also have a cold and I need something else. Like what vitamins and such are good for this??
(runny/stuffy nose, bad cough with green gross phlegm)
Thanks!!
You need to boost your immune system through eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Get some sun without sunscreen. This promotes your body's production of Vitamin D which is essential for excellent health. Boost your intake of Vitamin C through supplements and foods. Read the book Stop Growing Older...Grow Younger for many, many effective solutions for vital, healthy living.
Get some essential oils from Young Living. Thieves oil will fight any viral or bacterial infection. Put a couple drops on your throat lymph nodes, on your chest over your bronchial tubes, on the bottoms of your feet on the lung points (bend your foot and put the oil in the hollow of the foot), in your tea or hot chocolate (use a ceramic mug), or in a pot of hot water (inhale the steam). Eucalyptus oil in that hot water will help open your sinuses and bronchial tubes.

Hi, I am desperately looking for some of those 'Simple around-the-house Natural Remedies' for Bronchitis and/or allergies. I can not afford a hospital co payment at the moment, unfortunately, so I am working hard to find ways to make myself feel better before I get any worse or at least until I can afford the ridiculous hospital bill.
My Symptoms that have led me to believe that I have Bronchitis and/or allergies include:
1. An obvious fever;
2. An extremely congested nose, that when I am able to dispel mucus appears as either greenish/yellowish, clear, a combination of that, or with light blood;
3. A chronic and heavy cough. Each time I cough, I hack up gross, greenish/yellow mucus that tastes bad;
4. Difficulty in expanding lungs to fullest capacity without coughing heavily;
5. Headache, clogged ears (probably from excessively blowing nose), sore above eyebrows and sore exterior jaws, stingy facial skin (no visible acne or burns from being outside);
6. Extreme drowsiness, lack of energy, can sleep all day long;
7. Cough worsens after eating.
Bronchitis, allergies, or pneumonia? Simple remedies?
Thank you and sincerely,
John
I should add that I meant that the blood-stained mucus is from my nose I believe.
Your answer is extremely helpful. I'll keep the question up to see how others can help me too. But in the meantime, I think that I may take your advice and run with it. Thanks so much.
This does not sound like allergies. It also doesn't sound like when I have bronchitis.
If you are coughing up blood, you need to get to a doctor. Find an ER that accepts financial aid requests. You can get treated and should be able to get help with any medicine they would prescribe. You'll just have to fill out a form or two and supply proof of income or lack thereof. Call the hospitals before you go to make sure they have financial assistance and let them know when you check in at the ER. You can take care of the paperwork after your ER visit. Hospitals stays, if needed, are often covered too. You can usually use the acceptance for financial aid letter for the doctor at the hospital as well if they bill separately. If they do need to prescribe any medicine, tell them about your financial situation so they can point you in the right direction. Several pharmacies have started filling generic versions of the meds for free. There is usually a list of what meds qualify for this, and it's usually for a seven day amount.
edit - Blood from your nose is different. That can be just from blowing your nose too hard, allergies, dry air... Still, with all that phlegm and difficulty breathing, I'd still say hospital. I've had to do the financial aid route before, and only had one doctor not take the fin. aid I think because he had his own private practice. Don't really remember the explanation. But I had another doctor bill me separately and accept my fin. aid from the hospital. Good luck, and you're welcome.

There are many natural treatments for both acute and chronic bronchitis. Expectorants, healing teas, immune system boosters and other supplements are helpful in assisting the natural healing process. Traditional doctors usually recommend harsh pharmaceutical antibiotics and expectorants for bronchitis, but these can do more harm that good in the overall functioning of the body. Holistic healing approaches are safe, effective, cost efficient and promote long term health benefits and balance in the body. All of the natural and herbal medicines recommended in this article can be found at most health food stores.
ExpectorantsThere are many natural expectorants available to help heal chronic or acute bronchitis. Expectorants help bring up phlegm in the lungs and clear out bronchial passageways. According to by James A. Duke, Ph.D, herbs such as mullin, elecampane, horse hound and red clover flower are all natural expectorants found in tincture or tea form. Another powerful expectorant useful for healing bronchitis naturally is eucalyptus. The essential oils of eucalyptus can be inhaled by simply breathing it in or using an oil diffuser. Do not ingest eucalyptus oil. Cayenne is another natural expectorant. It can be put in food as a natural way to aid healing. American and Siberian ginseng are also helpful in healing bronchitis because they clear bronchial passages and reduce inflammation.
