Yes, i read that vitamins B12 and B6 are supposed to help, also magnesium. One way I got rid of my anxiety was signing up at a health club and taking yoga classes. Also, try to establish a routine in the evening that will help you wind down. Read a good book, do a crossword or soduku puzzle and drink some herbal tea. Also, try to just not be scared of it, the more you think about having it and reading up on it, the more you are thinking about it and will have it. I know its hard to do, but just be strong! Thank God that this is the only health problem you have and not something like cancer, GAD will get better and you will be OK. =)

There is therapy for this that does not require medications. She could see a counselor who specifically does behavior modification that helps one to face their fears and find a constructive way to handle it. My son has ADHD and OCD. The OCD can be really tough but he is his own best advocate. He is on medication but he has done really well with learning ways to deal with it on his own. Good Luck
I've pretty much been on and off meds my whole life since the age of six, among other things I'm diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and more recently I'm having anxiety related symptoms of depression. I recently opted to get back on Fluoxetine, but I hate the feeling of being drugged, and I kind of feel like it doesn't really help with my anxiety, more like masks it. Makes me feel half asleep and wide awake at the same time, and makes it difficult to concentrate. Plus I'm concerned with what long term effects it may be having on my health, particularly reproductive. Can anyone recommend any legal, relatively safe alternatives, such as a herbal remedy? I just feel like there's got to be something better out there, instead of the expensive, addictive crap that big pharma pushes.
