I am really sick of people giving me the thumbs down on natural pet remedies that I have used for years and works. I have found that the vets have not always steered me in the right direction and the natural cures have been lifesavers.
They DO work, though it depends upon the animal itself and the ailment....in my experience for the most part the natural remedies are as effective as the chemicals, with the possible exception of pesticides for fleas, which I will occasionally use when i have to.
I would compare the effectiveness of natural remedies on pets to the same types of remedies for humans, save the placebo effect, which is a human thing.
Vets are often retailing the goods they prescribe you which is something that would never fly for human medications. Particularly with prescription foods and some medications, many vets do have a financial interest in you using the prescription items.

For kitchen and bathroom.. and does anyone use baking soda in the cat box?
I use steam cleaners to clean the floors and counter tops because they don't use chemicals....just make sure the cat stays away from the steam while you are cleaning because it could burn the cat.
Also vinegar and water solutions work well for grimy counter tops.
I don't think it is safe to ingest, but there are no harmful odors and it is biodegradable...I use Borax to clean the toilet...it works great. You sprinkle it on wait about an hour (or more if you have time) then scrub the toilet. You can also use Borax to clean almost any hard surface.
For the microwave I use a half an orange, half a lemon and a half cup of vinegar. I microwave it for five minutes, then I take a rag and wipe off the grimy inside and dispose of the lemon/ orange/ vinegar mixture. It works better than anything else I have ever tried.
I don't use baking soda for the litter box, because frankly when you need the baking soda it's really time to just clean out the litter box.

I cannot afford the expensive stuff from the vet, and the Hartz and Sargeants just aren't working well.
Have any of you tried home-made or natural remedies that worked for fleas?
I found Sulphur Tablets, are VERY effective,so have many other dog owners. This will relieve Itchiness & will Kill,Fleas,Mites, lice & any other external Parasite. These Tablets are fairly cheap(£5.99 for a 100 tablet bottle).Or Tea-Tree Oil is incredibly effective too. So far i have found *Listerine Mouthwash* to be THE BEST at this job,its the cheapest out of the lot & is probably the most effective. So is Apple Cider, mixed together they are unstoppable!

Have you ever purchased any meds for yourself or your pet at this online website? They have name brand and generic presciption drugs, over the counter, holistic and pet meds for good prices.
www.safemedsforless.com
This is a reputable company with quality products. Just want to know if anyone has visited their website or purchased from them.
No I use DrsFosterSmith.com for my pets. There are so many scams out there for prescription drugs I would be really careful. and if they are selling human and pet meds out of the same company I would worry about the quality.
We have an 11 week old puppy and when we returned home from getting her, she got carsick in the car. She threw up food and what appeared to be a long tubular worm. Since then I have not seen anything in her stool. However I want to know if she should be treated for worms and I would like an natural remedy.
The over-the-counter wormers don't work on most worms. Especially what you descibe sounds like a tapeworm and are also contagious to people. Get your pup to the vet ASAP for a check-up and shots. There's a lot of Parvo going around right now. It is very easily preventable.

Think of it this way, all these weird, small people coming and ringing doorbells all over the neighborhood can’t seem normal to a dog. In fact, I’d venture to say that most dogs would be downright confused, nervous, wary and possibly even aggressive towards of all this...
