Natural Cleaning Remedies

For kitchen and bathroom.. and does anyone use baking soda in the cat box?

I use steam cleaners to clean the floors and counter tops because they don't use chemicals....just make sure the cat stays away from the steam while you are cleaning because it could burn the cat.

Also vinegar and water solutions work well for grimy counter tops.

I don't think it is safe to ingest, but there are no harmful odors and it is biodegradable...I use Borax to clean the toilet...it works great. You sprinkle it on wait about an hour (or more if you have time) then scrub the toilet. You can also use Borax to clean almost any hard surface.

For the microwave I use a half an orange, half a lemon and a half cup of vinegar. I microwave it for five minutes, then I take a rag and wipe off the grimy inside and dispose of the lemon/ orange/ vinegar mixture. It works better than anything else I have ever tried.

I don't use baking soda for the litter box, because frankly when you need the baking soda it's really time to just clean out the litter box.

Get a nail brush, some regular, run-of-the-mill (not whitening, sensitive or strengthening) toothpaste, and some warm water. Smooth on the toothpaste with your fingers or a damp paper towel, let it sit for a minute, then scrub it gently with the nail brush (I woulnd't use anything much more abrasive than a toothbrush, but a nail brush is similar and will cover alot more area). Rinse with warm water. You may need to repeat this a time or two depending on the condition of the chrome.

Hi, Tis the fly season again and they are coming on like gang-busters! .... We keep all of our horse manure cleaned out of the stalls everyday, and let them air-out, keeping the piles away from the barn and horses..BUT, this year there seem to be a lot more...They are all over the sides of our house, and on the car hoods and decks...Got any natural remedies for fly control?

You need vitamins to get healthier skin. Next time you are in the mall, check out the health food store. Since almost all soaps contain moisterizers, I see your problem. Ask the clerk for a special soap and shampoo.

My health book says that vitamin B2 is the culprit for oily hair, etc., but you should never take it alone without all the rest of the vitamins.

Unlike others who are pollen sensitive, my worst allergies are to mold and dustmites. I work hard to keep my environment clean, but living in classic old city buildings means there is only so much I can do. I'm tired of walking around with red eyes and "allergy shiners" all the time. Nothing has really worked since they took Seldane off the market... Benadryl gives some relief but makes me so drowsy I can hardly work. Can't afford expensive allergy shots,, don't want to do cortisone, and I would rather use natural remedies anyway. Help?

I've taken Seldane a couple of times and it was possibly the most potent antihistamine I've ever had. My methods for allergy relief now are quite different. I work as a doctor of chiropractic/clinical kinesiologist in a sports chiropractic clinic. I use a very specific allergy elimination technique that works great as well as get rid of any inflammation in the nervous system and bugs in your gut to assist with allergies of all types.
