What Natural remedies can i take instead of HRT?

My family have a history of heart attacks and strokes. I have had a full Hysterectomy and my doctor has put me on HRT.
I dont want to further my risk of a heart attack or a stroke and wonder if anyone knows of a natural remedy i can take instead of HRT?

There are a lot of them out there. Do some research, I googled DHEA and found a wealth of information on that, there is also black cohosh, and soy estrogens. I don't blame you for not wanting to take HRT, there are a great many risks involved, and if you smoke, you are at even greater risk. Good luck.

What natural/herbal remedies can I use for hot flashes?

I have already tried black cohash and it didn't work for me. My doctor recommend HRT but I am trying to find an alternative due to the risks.

I have heard that chasteberry might be another way to help with hot flashes, but I would recommend checking with a health food store as well to see what they say.

Hot flushes and night sweats - natural remedies?

I've come off HRT patches but the hot flushes and night sweats have returned. If I keep on having disturbed sleep, I'm going to revert to the mad axewoman I was years ago before I got HRT! HELP! I restrict myself to one cup of tea upon awakening, one cup of good coffee mid-morning, and a maximum of 2 glasses of red wine in the evening. I don't use sugar and seldom eat anything using refined flour. I've heard Rose Hip and St John's Wort can help. I'm prepared to do almost anything to get through this and out the other end with my sanity intact! Only, when will it all end? Please, someone out there, tell me it won't last forever!

Sage leaf tablets from Boots worked for me, almost instantly. Theyre a life saver. Good luck

Anyone know where to find the best information on HRT v. breast cancer?

Hormone Replacement Therapy. I have been on quite a few years now (about 8) and am 51. But still the hot flashes are awful if I go off the HRT. I have been told by my Dr. that any "natural" remedies will do the same harm. I am on the lowest dose possible already. Thanks for any info.

i would say to search that in goolge.com

Using Herbal Remedies For Hot Flashes To Avoid The Dangers Of HRT ...

The most common menopausal symptom for most women is also the most uncomfortable. Women who would otherwise hardly notice the transition into menopause definitely notice hot flashes! The medical treatment that was usually suggested for hot flashes in the past was hormone replacement therapy. While HRT can be very effective in alleviating the symptoms it can also increase your risk of breast cancer and stroke. It is no wonder that so many women are using herbal remedies for hot flashes .

The exact cause of hot flashes is unclear, but hormonal changes and imbalances are thought to be the main reason. Medical professionals consider hot flashes as an estrogen deficiency that can be triggered by stimulants, such as spicy foods (ginger, cayenne, pepper), acidic foods (tomatoes, citrus, pickles), hot drinks, alcoholic drinks, caffeine (chocolate, coffee, cola, black tea), white sugar, stress, hot weather, saturated or hydrogenated fats (margarine, meat), saunas and hot tubs, marijuana or tobacco, intense exercise, and anger. For many women, just eliminating that list of triggers plus using herbal remedies for hot flashes will bring immediate relief.
