The How to Herb Book (page 210) says:

*Black Walnut Extract, apply to area
*Aloe Vera Gel, apply to area. Drink Juice.
*Lysine.
*Comfrey Extract. Prick blisters and apply to area several times a day.

I use this book (and other written/online sources) to treat all of my families illness. The remedies are easy, and usually the have the products in your kitchen (or they are easy to get). Be sure that if you get Aloe Vera Gel that you get the pure kind, not the kind that you buy from Walmart to put on a sunburn. That has additives in it.

i am against taking medication, or things with side effects, so what are natural way to treat it, as in things to eat, or vitamins, or lotions, oils etc.

You can take L-Lysine daily as a preventative medication and also to speed up healing when you do happen to get a breakout. Well, as it is a viral problem, nothing much will help except homeopathy.

There are several possibilities with homeopathy but I would need to know the symptoms in order to help you.

Self-medication is never recommended with homeopathy, but if you can't get the help of a homeopath (which I recommend you do) you could look it up on this site and choose the remedy that best fits your symptoms.

tried all the prescription drugs... the herpes break out when i am stressed (dont suggest mediation... cant do that).... am looking for relief

It depends if you have oral or genital herpes. Anyway I would suggest taking a multi vitamin and mineral supplement with vitamin C, zinc, vitamin A and E, copper and Vitamin B6 and 12 when you are stressed. It will help you keep herpes under control. There are many options available. Eleutherococcus helps cope with stress and helps with herpes also but you have to take it for at least 21 days to feel an improvement....I've placed many remedies at best-herpes-treatments.com

Any activity that promotes the immune system will help with a chronic viral infection like G.H. That includes moderate exercise like walking and stretching on a regular basis and eating veggies every day. Also limit your sugar intake (in anything you eat the ingredients sugar, corn syrup, cane juice, or any other form of sugar should not be listed in the first four ingredients) and eat whole grain foods like 100 percent whole wheat, brown rice, and oatmeal.

As for supplements you can try the brand Lauricidin, the brand Culturelle, and the herb Astragalus. All support the immune system. I use each of these items for a chronic condition of my own and they have improved my health significantly.

Also I try to manage my stress, something that helps with chronic conditions in general, with relaxation and deep breathing every day for ten minutes.
