Glaucoma Natural Remedies

I do not want to take the eye drops the Ophthalmologist prescribed. First of all it's too expensive. Even the co-pay is $100.00 a month. I can't afford it. And second of all I want to avoid the dark pigmentation around the eyelids that's caused due to the drops. This reason by the way is the least of all my concerns. Is there any type of alternative medicine that will do the same as the eye drops so that I can avoid using them? Thanks!

first if you get a generic eye drop instead of the brand name one it will cost you waaaaaaay less.
secondly the eye drops that treat glaucoma are not known for causing dark pigmentation so i don't know where you are getting that from.
third you could use marijuana to help with the eye pressure but even medicinal marijuana is illegal in many places.

i've had glaucoma since i was 11yrs old. (i'm now 23yrs old) i get the generic for eye drop instead of the brand name and it only costs me $5 (i do have pretty good insurance though with blue cross blue shield)
and i've never had any darkening pigmentation happen.

Homeopathic remedy for Glaucoma

Definition: Increased intraocular pressure.

Causes: Hypertension, senility, degeneration, infections, diabetes mellitus.

Symptoms: Headaches, pain and visual impairment. Ocular pressure should be tested by tonometry before and after therapy.

Treatment: Aconitum napellus; Belladonna atropa; Bryonia alba; Gelsemium sempervirens; Opium; Phosphorus; Spigelia anthelmia.

Aconitum napellus: Indicated in the acute form of glaucoma.

Belladonna atropa: When the onset is sudden and the eyes are exquisitely painful with acute inflammation, dryness and photo- phobia.

Bryonia alba: When the intraocular tension is raised and there is intense soreness, continuous lachrymation and photophobia. Gelsemium Most useful when the double vision (diplopia) is consempera'rens: tinuous; the vision is misty and severely diminished. The eyes feel bruised and under severe pressure.

Opium: The eyeballs feel expanded, swollen and under pressure. Vision is misty and blurred, the pupils are contracted and fixed {no reaction to light).

Phosphorus: Alleviates the pain and limits the degenerative changes.

Spigelia anthelmia: The eyeballs feel too large and pulled back into the skull. Of great value with sharp, shooting and stitching pains, which are particularly worse by movement and at night. Palpitations are often associated.

Homeopathic remedy dosage

Select the remedy that most closely matches the symptoms. In conditions where self-treatment is appropriate, unless otherwise directed by a physician, a lower potency (6X tablets or 30C liquid) should be used. In addition, instructions for use are usually printed on the label.

I suggest that remedies be used as follows: Take 2-3 drops of selected remedy in ¼ th glass of water, preferably empty stomached, 3 doses 8 hourly for at least 3 days and wait for a response. If improvement is seen, continue to wait and let the remedy work. If improvement lags significantly or has clearly stopped, another dose may be taken. The frequency of dosage varies with the condition and the individual. Sometimes a dose may be required several times an hour; other times a dose may be indicated several times a day; and in some situations, one dose per day (or less) can be sufficient.

If no response is seen within a reasonable amount of time, select a different remedy.

yes, I do know about a program that healed every type of eye diseases..cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and even some people blind form birth..a baby with no optic nerve told the baby would be blind forever, it gained its eyesight

on the left side click on eyes and then on eyebright formula

take 5-10 drops into a glass eye wash cup with distilled water and hold to each eyes and while doing it move eye to top, left, bottom and right.

do this 7 times a day

also take 2 droppersfuls by mouth (60 drops) 5 or more times a day (best to make a tincture yourself on this using one part of the following herbs

Eyebright Herb, Goldenseal root, Red Raspberry leaves, Mullein flower, Fennel seed, Rue tops (leave out rue if you can't find)..try to use organic bulk herbs

then add 1/8th part of Cayenne pepper powder (hotter the better)..you can gradually up the cayenne to 1/4 part, 1/2 part, 3/4 th part and one part...(It will sting for a few minutes maybe but no damage or harm..not bad)

in addition to this, take organic ginkgo tinctures (2 droppersfuls 5 times a day) but mouth, drink 3 cups of carrot juice homemade in a juicer preferably organic and get on a slant board once a day

Glaucoma is a eye condition that has the potential of causing blindness if it is not treated adequately. In general, the eye pressure should be reduced using glaucoma eye drops to a level at least 20% below the highest recorded eye pressure level. Regular 4 to 6 monthly eye examinations with a eye doctor are a must.

Using the eyes, whether working on computers or watching TV or reading books will NOT cause worsening of glaucoma. Your mother can work on the computer as much as she wants. I suspect you probably don't want to share your computer time with her ;>

Natural remedies for glaucoma - aerobic exercises help. That means brisk walking for a mile or so every day (medical condition permitting - talk to your doctor). There is some evidence that Ginkgo biloba extract are beneficial. A healthy diet and vitamins are useful too. Acupuncture benefit is speculative.

What not to do: drink less caffeine, don't do head stands (upside down posture) as in some Yoga postures.

Bottom line: The management is medical with close regular follow up.
