The two best moisturizers for eczema are Eucerin and Mimyx lotions. I recommend them to all of my eczema patients following their morning shower (cover yourself head-to-toe). Eczema appears to have several causes including an infection of the skin. Coconut oil will do nothing and it isn't particularly moisturizing by itself. Ask your doc what moisturizers s/he recommends to control it. Most kids outgrow it.
For really bad eczema, steroid creme REALLY helps, but they don't want to give that to infants because it can cause problems. Also, washing the baby daily can increase eczema because it dries the skin.
