I am allergic to all animals with hair and dust and lately with it being the beginning of spring my asthma is flaring up. I have tried antihisthamines and they do work somewhat but some make you drowsy and most make you thirsty all the time. I am looking for some effective natural remedies. Can you help?
Hey, i just went by a Herbal store today. They gave me a helpful book and i just looked up allegies for you and it saids you could try: Echinacea, Elder, Eyebright, Goldenseal, Nerttles, and Red clover.. Hope this helps..

I am terribly allergic to cats. My eyelids feel like sandpaper, I get 'asthma', my throat and mouth feel very painful, nose stuffy but running, the skin on my hands even gets sore. My girls love them and also, their sitter(our neighbor) has one inside. This is tearing me up! Meds don't even touch it. I've tried it all, even prescriptions.
If you've been to an Allergist and taken their advise and it's still not working for you... don't have a cat in your house. your girls will understand and be more mindful of washing their hands after playing with the neighbor's cat (before they expose you). there are always sacrifices we make for our children, but this should not be one of them.
My dog has allergies and is always rubbing his eyes and scratching. The vet said try benedryl and I did but to no avail. I want to try some other all natural remedy before I take him back to the vet for some over priced pet med. Any suggestions?
You could have the dog allergy tested and see what the cause is. It might be easier to remove something or alter something than to keep treating it. Dogs can also get allergy shots like people do that desensitize them to what they are allergic to. I had a Frenchie that got them for a few years and then was fine.
I live in Spain and have am really allergic to dust...I have been really really tired and because I play volleyball am limited to the kinds of medication I can take. Are the natural remedies effective? Also, I can get it cleared by the doctor if I need to but are injections the strongest remedies? My eyes are really sensitive and I eat and sleep well but wake up with an achy body and exhausted...any recommendations?
In Prescription For Natural Cures, Balch & Stengler discuss homeopathic remedies, Vitamin C 3-5 grams a day, Nettles 300-500 mg daily, MSM 3-5 grams daily, Quercetin 1000 mg 3 times daily, and Essential Fatty Acids (Flaxseed or Fish oils). Natural Allergy Remedies
Around 17.6 million adult Americans suffer from hay fever, with almost half as many children (6.8 million) also suffering, according to the 2006 National Health Survey from the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS). Moreover, physicians charted more than 11 million office visits by patients seeking relief from hay fever, also known as allergic rhinitis.
Symptoms of allergic rhinitis include itchy eyes, runny nose, congestion and endless sneezing, all caused by an overacting immune response to a number of possible triggers, including pollen from plants, dust and dust mites, airborne pollutants, mold and pet dander. The pathology of allergic rhinitis is marked by inflammation of mucus membranes in the eyes, throat, ears, sinuses, nose and lungs. The development of inflammation in allergies is complex, but one of the most influential mediators is immunoglobulin E (IgE), which responds to protein allergens. There certainly is a genetic component to susceptibility or sensitivity to allergic response to certain triggers, but the focus of allergy relief is on the reactionary cascade of events, regardless of predetermined sensitivities to allergens.
