I know he's played badly recently, but what's to lose? Money isn't a problem on the Mets. To quote from the 1984 movie "The Natural", "Cmon Red we don't need no middle aged rookies!...Yeah but we sure as heck need somebody!"
Nothing wrong with Colon on the Mets. He is no longer an impact pitcher and he would not be the difference between winning and losing for the Team this year. If he can stay away from any major health issues he could actually help them, and that is what the Mets would be hoping for.
I had an IUD inserted about 3 months ago. I am 25, and I've never had any children. I used to have reasonably painful periods, but since I've gotten the IUD my periods seem to last about two weeks, and the cramping is absolutely debilitating. I just lie in bed hunched up for hours sweating and panting. I have been taking about 800mg of Ibuprofen or Advil about every 2-6 hours for almost 2 weeks out of the month. It's only been 3 months but I've already noticed signs of colon problems (blood where there shouldn't be) I'm scared that this may damage my liver. Does anyone know if one NSAID is better for your stomach than another? Or have any tips to help ease the pain caused by my IUD? I really don't want to have to use hormones, and I want to keep the IUD. But I don't want to hurt myself. And I don't have insurance or a physician, so asking my doctor isn't really the advice I am looking for. But thank you for any advice.
I had a bad experience w/ my (Mirena) IUD so I'm going to say as nice as the benefits are, I'm not too sure it's worth it.
I don't think one NSAID is better for your stomach than another. They all can be bad with long term use. I have horrible cramps too and I've found Celebrex works well.
I had mine removed b/c it gave me an infection. I'm having problems trying to conceive now and am praying it didn't mess up my tubes too much to do so. Most people have the opposite affect from an IUD but your situation sounds like mine.
Colon cleansing is suppose to help take out all the toxic we recieve from food we eat and from the environment. It makes since to do, besides cleansing our skin. I hear that acne is a sign of internal problems.
Hello Andre,
There are no reliable clinical studies that show that colonics help with anything. In fact, they cause harm by removing natural, beneficial bacterial which are normally present in your colon.
It's a logical conclusion that you submit. However, the correct way to detox your body is with proper foods.
1. Fiber. Known to protect against cancer and improve digestive processes.
2. Milk thistle. Known to absorb and carry away toxins from the liver
3. Keep your blood sugar level in check. Eating high glycemic foods can cause inflammation and acne.
4. Avoid saturated fats and trans fats. Studies have shown they aggravate acne.

I hope this helps you.

If there is no signs of problems should a 85 year old person have this procedure done?
The only major risk I can think of with a colonoscopy other than the fact that it is unpleasant, is ruptured bowel. This usually only happens when the intestine is in a weakened state to begin with such as with colon cancer. During a colonoscopy, doctors are looking for little things called polyps. These range in size but sort of look like pimples without the heads. These are precursors to colon cancer and removing them is the most effective way to prevent colon caner. Nowadays, most facilities use conscious sedation so you are not even aware of what is going on during the procedure although you can choose to be awake if you want to. After-wards, besides being groggy, you just feel bloated due to all the gas they have to pump into your intestines so they can see every nook and cranny.
