RED MEAT - COLON CANCER? ?

Can someone tell my Exactly why red meat causes colon cancer? And is Bison meat any safer because it’s all natural and free range?

Red meat takes longer to pass through the intestines than plant food. Meat is also the rotting carcus of an animal. The longer you are exposed to it, the more toxins it can produce; therefore, it increased risk of mutation.

red meat is linked to colon cancer, so are there a lot of people?

in Argentia who have colon cancer???

The chances of you developing colon cancer are very slim, and there are many conditions which cause bleeding. If it is bleeding alone, without any cramping, pain, etc then the chances are even slimmer. HOWEVER, you do need to get in contact with a doctor and infact, since you have a first relative with colon cancer you should do regular colonoscopies (every year), there are pre-cancerous stages in the colon which can be detected with colonoscopies and that can prevent the cancer from happening all together. Best of luck.

is it colon cancer?

i have diarreoah since like 17 n now i'm 20. but i dun see blood in my stool. i use to eat more meat than veg but not fruits cos when i eat fruits i will just have loose bowels, but when i eat red meat my loose bowel will get normal day by day. but i found out i'm more lactose intorelance cos after taking milk products i will have diarreaoh just after 15 mins or the next day if taken a little of it. so now i take medicine for it. but i still get loose bowels n sometime pain in my right abdomenon but i still get normal bowels for like 5 to 10 days or maybe normal then after tat loose bowels follows in 1 visits. sometimes i thought maybe i havin colon cancer or maybe just IBS. so i want to ask u ppl..wats the possibilties? IBS or CAncer? i goin to go for colonscopy after i graduate like after 1 yr later as i'm busy with my study right now and i don't find blood in my stool.
ooh the pain in my right abdomenon i just mention just now is just recently like yesterday is worse now feel like nth. n when i press down the area its more like trapped air. now that i pressed down that area i just feel a tiny bit of pain but not hard.
i don't think there's a record of bowel cancer in my family just that it gotta do with bowel problem like piles. n frm wat i noe IBS can happen to ppl as young as me too just that they doesn't noe it.
n i've seen GP but they say i'm fine just got poor digestive problem but just to make sure.

looks like IBS. not colon cancer hopefully. tumors grow slowly and won't give any symptoms until they are large enough and it also depends where it is located. bleeding in the stool, abdominal pain and frequent bowel movements are symptoms. in most cases, it takes about 5 years to progress to cancer unless inherited of course. you need to have it checked asap to confirm if it's IBS and how bad it is. only your doctor can do the assessment. don't wait for it to get worse. even mild IBS needs treatment to manage it.

Meat linked to increased diabetes risk: Meta-analysis

Data from 12 cohort studies showed that high intakes of all types of meat were associated with a 17 per cent increase in the risk of type-2 diabetes, while similar risk increases were also noted for high intakes of red meat.

The study, published in the journal Diabetologia , adds to an ever increasing list of bad news for red and processed meat, following previous studies from the US National Cancer Institute (NCI) that reported high intakes of red and processed meats may raise the risk of lung and colorectal cancer by up to 20 per cent.

The World Cancer Research Fund published a report in 2007 that directly linked diet to cancer, with alcohol and red and processed meats posing particular risks.
