my dad has stage four colon cancer and was diagnosed in mid december. its spread to his liver and lungs and part of his stomach. he also has luekemia. what is the longest he could live with certain treatments?
No one can give you an estimate time on your dad's life. Every individual is different and every persons body reacts differently. In the meantime it would be good for your dad to try and keep his nutrition healthy and he might even try anti-oxidants to help slow down the process of the cancer spreading. Anti- oxidants bind with free radicals and definetly helps to slow down the process. Your dad's condition is serious and advanced. Prepare yourself and accept the fact that he has this disease and ensure spending lots of time with him.Prevention is always better than cure

well. I have Lost 3 family members due to cancer and had 1 survive. the three that died had very very bad cancers and the 1 that survived had colon cancer.. This is the cancer that is one of the easier ones to treat.. It is Not in any way a death sentence. You need to support her and go about your life with her as if she didn't have it... More likely than none she will be Just fine.
Encourages healing.

My grandfather has been sick for 1 yr battling colon cancer. and we didn't catch it until then. The doctors said that it was growing inside him for 6-8 yrs. Today, i went to see him and he is in his last days. all he is doing is just laying there and sleeping. my dad tried to wake him up so i could say i loved him. he had a hard time trying to wake up but then he only opened his eyes not even half way. I said my good-byes.
I was wondering how will he die? when? and what will happen before he dies? Will he stop breathing? I need an answer quick!!
No one can answer your question about how long he has left to live, except God. He sounds like he is very well on the final leg of his life, but he could live for a few more hours, a few more days, or even weeks. We just don't know.
As to what will happen before he dies, that's sort of another 'I don't know' answer. His body is probably already starting to shut down. Sounds like he's too weak to move which can be a sign of the body shutting down. He'll probably lose functions in certain organs. Most likely, since he has a hard time waking up, he'll die peacefully in his sleep, with no pain.
It's good that you said good-bye to him now. He may not have understood or comprehended it, but I'm sure it's appreciated still.

First of all - a little about us:) We're a group of university students who have set out to produce (and publish) a new alternative newspaper (and e-zine) of the name WINK (short for World Inclusiveness). WINK addresses issues such as natural living, environmental problems AND their solutions, social justice, positive news (unfortunately in our 'conventional' daily newspapers there isn't enough of this), inspiring initiatives and stories and much more. You can find us on http://www.winkonline.org/ A study from the University of Granada and the University of Barcelona revealed that compounds in olive skin inhibits cell proliferation and causes death in colon cancer cells.
