How To Clean Your Colon

I just learned about the stuff in your colon and how it affects the timing of you poo o.O

So im wondering what drinks/foods you can take to clean it. I dont want an answer saying to take those cleansing pills. Just something I can find at my local grocery store. Also what foods should I stay away from that could um... counter food cleaning my colon.

Drinking lots of water cleanses your whole body. Why do you think so much is recommended every day? Lots of fluids combined with a high fiber diet will keep you clean.

I recently had a bout with an bronchial infection. Now, it is draining in my colon. I need to remove all the medications and other matter. I saw an infomercial for something that is supposed to clean all this matter out of your colon. I am kind of skeptical about it. But some authoritative people, there are suppose to know their stuff, were on this program. Has anybody know about this?

I'm trying to convince my mother to cleanse her colon because of how important it is to get rid of all the nasty toxins but she was never a true believer of buying anything from the internet and is very old fashioned so if anybody knows any foods or over-the-counter pills that may have a similar effect and help get rid of nasty toxins please answer it would be greatly appreciated.
