Colonic Irrigation

Later today I'm having a colonic irrigation. I've heard it is good to clean out your colon and the place I'm going to has a good reputation. But now I'm a little nervous. Anyone ever done this and do I have anything to fear?

Doesnt that get all of the waste out of your intestines that builds up over the years..I heard it might make you lose some weight as well...I almost talked my mom into getting some pills that can clean your colon out! But they where like over a hundred bucks..

Information on Colon Health

I have a herd of dead cattle aching to rampage out of my intestines and a friend said that colonic irrigation is great, but I can only deal with doing it once. Any advice?

more fiber and acidophilus (can be found in yogurt or take supplements) acidophilus replaces "friendly bacteria" in your intestines, helps keep you clean and regular.........

I'm in constant pain with constipation and back ache's, nothing is working, the hospital keep teeling me to change my diet and eat more fibre but this doesn't work. I've heard colonic irrigation releives constipation and back ache's but am not sure it is safe with my condition.

It always takes me a while to answer questions like this as there is a delay while I stop laughing and my eyes stop streaming so that I am able to type.

It never ceases to amaze me what these charlatans can pursued people to do and how [people are so gullible they can't get the money out of their pockets fast enough to pay for these quack remedies.

However, as noted below, the ASA concluded that except possibly for relief of occasional constipation, the clinic had "provided only anecdotal evidence . . . and had not been able to support those claims with robust clinical evidence."

For the past two months I have been having terrible trouble with constipation,bloating,flatulence,nausea and have tried every over the counter remedy with no success.My doctor just tells me to exercise more and eat more fruit and veg which I already do.I feel like I am not being taken seriously enough and I am worried that it may cause more problems if I just put up with it.Does anyone know whether colonic irrigation helps?And if so is it available on the medical card?

I've never heard of any insurance companies paying for colonic irrigation's. Take a series of enemas at home, you can get similar results for allot less money.

i am not too keen on the procedure involved in colonic irrigation and have heard it can be dangerous and would much rather take something like a liquid herbal/tablets that would help flush out toxic waste in the same way a colonic would. any ideas?

You DO NOT HAVE "toxic waste" to begin with. This is a nonsense idea that alt med scammers have invented to try to sell gullible people colonic irrigation, enemas, "cleanses" and "detox" programs.
Your colon is perfectly capable of "cleanising" itself. Mankind existed for thousands of years without the need for all this ridiculous "cleansing". You will be fine without it.
