Colon Test

they found polyps and they removed them but they also found a mass in his stomach or something that they are going to test for cancer. what are the chances of any of this being cancer? his dad died from cancer and im scared for my dad.

Yes, there IS a chance your dad COULD have cancer BUT, there is also a chance that he DOESN'T.... thing is, since he went to have the test and they REMOVED the polyps and found the "mass", if it SHOULD be cancer, they probably found it in plenty of time to remove it, treat it and be CURED....your grandfather might have waited too long before getting TREATMENT for his cancer and that is the main reason people DIE now-a-days from cancer--they find it and treat it too late... A mass in the stomach COULD also be an ULCER so don't worry until your dad tells you one way or the other... but even if it SHOULD come out to be cancer---there are SO many treatments that CURE that were NOT around even in the last few YEARS... so do NOT worry so much....have a positive attitude and positive outlook and everything will probably be OK....but why don't you sit down and talk out your fears with your dad... it might make HIM feel better as well to know you care enough to be scared for him and talking about it would be MUCH better then just wondering---trust me I KNOW this for a fact. I have 2 TERMINAL illnesses that my son and I discuss all the time... he's sort of sharing my experiences with it and that makes it much easier for me AND for him to deal with it all.

I know this may seem like a werid question but I'm wondering and curious. When you go for a check up and get your blood drawn to check the numbers of organs and such.. does it include the colon? Or do you have to get a colonoscopy done to see if it's healthy or not?

I don’t know what "the numbers of organs" is, but I do know it does not appear on a blood test. The only way to tell if your colon is healthy is with a colonoscopy.

i had a colon test done recently and a biopsy was taken the doctor told me it looked messy in there (colon) I'm still waiting for my results .... and I also have pain under my left rib cage that travels down ward .can anyone tell me if they had/have similiar symptoms?

Usually in colonscopies they find polyps, sometimes diverticuli, etc. I believe they usually have you sign an authorization before the surgery that if they find something you agree they can continue as opposed to putting you under twice. Do you remember what was said to you before surgery about it?

I don't know if the pain under your left rib is important or not, they may have positioned you in some manner that stretched a muscle.

It doesn't take very long for pathology results - if it has been 24 hours call your doctor and tell him you want to know.

I am having some itching, and i took zentel but it is still happening, i dont past my stool everyday so i am very concern.
