Since my surgery in Dec., when all but 40cm of my colon was removed, my blood preasure medications do not seem to be effective. Well, it is very obvious why your blood pressure medications are not providing their therapeutic action. They are not absorbed!
You see, certain medications are absorbed from the intestine (those which are basic in nature), others are absorbed from your stomach (those which are acidic in nature). Without going in to complicated medical details, your blood pressure drug seems to be basic in nature. Since you have had most of your colon removed, it passes out your body unabsorbed and ineffective.
You have not specifically mentioned your medication. But you have got to refer to your doctor for immediate change in therapy regimen. You have to control your blood pressure someway or the other.
