Colon Problems

I used to have colon problems for almost 8 years and had to take laxatives every single day. I have recently been healed from it and have not had to take them in over a month and am doing Great. I was wondering what foods could help improve this and are not hard on my colon. I know fiber foods but what. And are bananas bad for u. Is it true that they really stop u up

fruits and veg. And stay away from cheese and stuff that constipates you! Iam glad you were healed! Praise God

Any educated doctors out there that can tell me if it is possible for me, a woman at age 28 to have colon problems?

I'm not a doctor but I started having colon problems (Crohn's) when I was about 27. If you have Crohns, Colitis, IBD, it can start at any time and it can also be hereditary. My problems started when I let myself really get run-down. Definitely see a Gastroenterologist who can let you know what is going on down there. Yes it can... if it compresses your colon enough.

Constipation, obstruction... but your body has an amazing ability to adapt :)

Only if you eat it! It can't get into the colon from the other direction - unless you ram it up there. Toilet paper is from the same source that most paper is. There are some chemicals in the paper making process, but nothing to be afraid of. Some of those same chemicals and fibers are in ice cream and other foods you eat. If it was that toxic - do you think there would be a lot more people with colon cancer. It's also highly biodegradable, and wouldn't stay in the system long enough to cause much damage anyway - certainly not as long as the vegetables you eat.

Also, would this doctor be the one to perform a colonoscopy?

Go to a generalist..he/she will refer u to the right specialist
