How long after a removal of a colon polyp do you get the results?

About 1 week.

The polyp will need to be processed and then cut, then need to be examined under microscope for cancer. It will take 5-7 working days to get it done.

Call your GI doctor if you have not heard from him by 2 weeks.

Colon Polyp Removal with Dr. Galati

Dr. Galati explains the removal of a colon polyp in a 50 year old man.

Does removing a colon polyp 2-3 cm in size hurt?

My husband had a colon polyp removed via the scope that was 2-3 cm in size. The doctor says this should not hurt; but he is hurting. The surgeon refused to give him pain medication for pain that he is experiencing after the polyp removal. He feels like the surgeon is being unreasonable, has anyone had a colon polyp removed via the scope and felt they need pain medication to assist with the discomfort - after the procedure.

Any information you have is appreciated....

If the doctor said it shouldn't hurt and it hurts, there's a possibility something might have gone seriously wrong.

Is there a difference between polyps an inch into your anus and between polyps in your colon?

Is colon polyps more serious because my doctor did a physical on me and then told me I had small polyps (you know when they put the rubber glove on...) then my doctor told me they were small and harmless...but are colon polyps different, do they require removal? I don't have colon polyps but the doctor said I have polyps neer inside my anus, is there a difference??????

an inch into your anus is your colon.

The colon is also called the descending intestine -- it's the last part of the large intestine -- the poo shoot.
