I'm thinking about getting a colon hydrotherapy. But I can't find any major hospital (private or public) that has colon hydrotherapy in its list of service. I can only find the practice of colon hydrotherapy on small clinics that don't look convincing for me.
I just agree with the idea of cleansing your colon every few months, just as I visit my dentist every 5-6 months.
Colonic Hydrotherapy, Colonic Irrigation, whatever fancy name you want to give it....its an enema. Hospitals give enemas occasionally for the relief of constipation. That is it.
Colonic Hydrotherapy as proposed by various alternative practitioners claims to "detoxify" the body from all sorts of unspecified toxins and other nasties, and boost your immune system bla bla bla. There is no evidence for this, and the practise is without any scientific merit. that is why you won't find it available as a "service" at a legitimate hospital, but only at spas, private "holistic health" clinics, naturopaths etc.
You may "agree with the idea" but there is no reason to clean out your colon. Your body does a really good job of that on its own.
It is also a potentially dangerous practice. It can deplete the body of electrolytes like sodium and potassium. It can remove beneficial bacteria as effectively as overuse of antibiotics (ironic, huh?) and there is a small but serious risk of bowel perforation and peritonitis.
Information on Colon Health
I have been diagnosed with i.b.s im also quite worried as a number of family members have dies from stomach and colon cancer. I am trying to regulate my diet and be very careful, i would like to know your experiences of colon hydrotherapy, and colonic irrigation. I would love to know more about it and a good place to get it done in london, how much it costs how often to go and what are the results like.
Thanks
talk to your doctor or health professional and seek out support groups to find people who can answer your question
often people will tell you small details docs wont, not because they are trying to hide something, but honestly, a patient knows the therapy first hand
i wish you the very best

I just wanted to know if a colon cleanse dose as a good job as a colon hydrotherapy? Does the hydrotherapy romove more stuff?
It depends on what you're trying to do it for. If you're just trying to clean out the bad stuff and help regularity, then colon cleanses are best, although the powders are usually easier so you aren't swallowing a dozen pills at a time. Colon cleanses are typically mostly fiber and herbs that encourage regularity, so they are very beneficial and safe.
If you are doing it for a colonoscopy or something where your colon needs to be REALLY clean, then hydrotherapy is the only option.
If you're wondering which is safer, that would be the colon cleanser. There are some things that should be in your colon (specifically probiotics) that an enema would wash out which could be detrimental to long-term regularity. In other words, an enema is only a short-term help and will make you more constipated if you use them too often. Fiber products would work with your body's chemistry to keep things moving normally. What is it like going through a colon hydrotherapy session? What was the outcome?
A friend of mine swears by them. She says it's helped her immensely -- she feels that was the biggest thing that helped her get off her insulin. I'm on the fence. I think that you can do an herbal cleanse that's just as effective and maybe safer.
Do not pay any attention to the folks who say you don't need to do a cleanse once in a while. They probably don't clean their duct work in their house, either.
I want open practice in New Jersey and I was trying to find set of rules regarding colon hydrotherapy for New Jersey and New York but could not find any.
I think they find that fraudulent quackery such as colon cleanses are hampered by the presence of a real doctor.
