Does the fiber in colon cleansers make you never hungry?

I am doing a colon cleanse which has a lot of fiber in it 6 grams per dose x 2 per day. The fiber comes from phyllium husk (I just started today) and I am never hungry. It's kind of weird. I typically eat around 1,500-2,000 calories every day, but this colon cleanse thing is throwing that off. Has anyone else had this experience when you eat a lot of fiber? and what should I do?

yep, the fiber will give you that fullness feeling. however it doesn't last forever. eventually the fiber does its job - cleansing the colon and well now that you're probably feeling more relieved you're probably be wanting to replace it with food.

Something else besides fiber that can clean the colon?

I'm asking this because for some reason i can't eat too much fiber such as corn and lentols. It does some weird things to my stomach and gives me severe headaches. Anyway does anyone know if i can eat or drink something that will clean my colon.

FYI i am not a heavy meat and junk food eater. I'm actually quite a health nut :).

Go to the website below. I go to a natural doctor for different things and the first thing he gave me was a colon cleanser. It's amazing what doing a cleanse will do for your body. I wish I could find the one that he gave me but I can't find it, it's called Springreen. Anyways, check out this website. The main ingredient that you want to look for in a colon cleanse is psyllium husk. Good luck.

Is psyllium fiber bad for the colon?

For years now, doctors have been suggesting fiber supplements such as Metamucil for everyone, not just older people. Like all other OTC fiber supplements, Metamucil contains psyllium fiber. I have now been told (NOT by a medical professional) that pysllium fiber is actually BAD for the colon. Anyone have valid knowledge about this?

it's good fiber. just drink enough fluids with it.

is it safe to eat foods high in fiber when doing a colon cleanse?

im thinking of taking colon cleanse pills and they have lots of fiber in them. Is it safe to eat foods with lots of fiber since the pills will have it? Could i overdose in fiber and make myself sick?

yep

What is in the detox or colon cleanse supplements that isn't in regular fiber?

Does it work? What would make it cleanse the colon? What about that horrible tasting stuff you get in the green bottle at the pharmacy? Wouldn't that do the same thing?

DEAR DR. GOTT: I am 80 years old. My doctor doesn’t seem too concerned that I’ve been diagnosed with diverticulosis involving the entire colon. How concerned should I be? Can this become worse? At present, I have little pain and no bleeding. When I told my doctor that I usually have pain in the morning, she said it was probably my spine giving me problems. A CT scan revealed stenosis and disc herniation, but my back condition hasn’t worsened since 2002. What should I worry about most? Should I see a spine doctor in case I eventually get worse? Or should I concentrate on my diverticulosis? I’m afraid to exercise and have been very careful.

DEAR READER: Diverticular disease is a condition of the digestive tract characterized by small pouches that protrude through the muscular wall of the large intestine. When a number of pouches are present, the condition is known as diverticulosis. When inflammation occurs, the condition is known as diverticulitis.
