colon disease?

my relative has been diagnosed with a colon problem. there was puss in the colon, which has now dried up, and constantly hurts him.
he can undergo operation, but it is not that safe for him to have it.
i want to know if there are any other cures?
eating certain vegetables, or fruits, or may be even taking sum type of pill? or even if there is a good site about this topic.
please help me.

Im going to get the thumbs down for this but He needs to look into Everybodys Fiber by Natures Sunshine. I have known a lot of people with colon problems that are severe (own a medical company) and for some reason that fiber has healing properties that work every time. I have never known one person that didnt get better from taking it and watching their diet. He needs to eat steamed food and no red meat at all. Absolutely no white flour products, food dyes, sweetners, anything that isnt natural. He only has to take it for 3 months to get better more than likely. Dont miss a day on it for those three months though. Also, keep his diet healthy healthy healthy. He can get better from this.

What are the tell-tale signs that you have colon disease?

I know one sign would be seeing blood in your stool.

Will a colon cleansing be bad for someone with Chrons disease?

I was diagnosed with Chrons disease last year and was thinking about doing a colon cleasing. Is this safe to do without seeing a doctor first??

You need to find a doctor who practices alternative medicine but who is also an MD to ask this question. Try googling it first, something like "alternative health care practitioners with MD degrees."

UPDATE:

Peter, I'm sure, realizes that outside the community of conventional practitioners, his answer is controversial. I do agree, however, that colon cleansing wipes out the natural bacterial balance in the colon which is why after a cleansing you have to take a good probiotic with a wide array of strains of beneficial bacteria. It may be contraindicated in Crohn's sufferers, or it may be the best thing they can do. That's why you need a medical doctor who also/practices alternative medicine to advise you, and please get first, second and third opinions. Be a partner in your own health decisions.

What is a colon disease? Is it deadly?

Can a colon disease kill you? I have no idea about it. I'm scared.

hi, are you talking about inflammatory bowel disease such as crohn's or ulcerative colitis? These illnesses can't kill you. They are painful at times yes, but aren't deadly.

I've had crohn's disease since I was 12. To keep things under control you need to be on maintenance medications, avoid drinking and smoking, for women avoid hormone birth control as it will contribute to blood clots, eat healthy when feeling well and exercise.

Check out the crohn's and colitis foundation's site. they have tons of updated information ranging from what IBD is, how it's dxed, diet, drug therapy, women's issues, locating a local support chapter, surgery, as well as a live chat, a hotline you can call, plus an open forum where you can post questions to others who have it.

good luck and know that you can lead a normal live w/crohn's or UC.

Does gingivitis or periodontis disease has any link to colon cancer?

If a person eats breakfast before brushing his teeth and is not aware that he has gingivitis or periodontis disease. Will he gets colon cancer? Is there any link? Should he change his routine to eat breakfast after brushing his teeth?

I have heard that some researchers believe that there is a link between gingivitis or periodontal disease and colon cancer. But it is not really proven , though some of the evidence supports the theory . My mother suffered from gingivitis and she died from colon cancer. I do my best to look after my teeth and gums and rinse my mouth twice a day with a mouthwash . If you are worried either get advice from a dentist , or if you get gum disease go to a pharmacy and get something there . At the very least rinse with a solution of salt water , I often use that too . I brush my teeth after eating morning and evening , it seems more logical than brushing before eating . Flossing is also a good idea , it is a hassle at first but does help to preserve teeth and gums .
