Colon Cleanse Detoxification

I am not trying to loose weight, I just want to clean my digestion system. Can someone please suggest me a good product? thank you!

I have two suggestions of cleanses for you - they have different approaches, so it depends on what you like best and feel most comfortable with...

does colon cleansing or detoxification really work?what is the best kind to use?

The colon cleanses can actually cause more harm than good. They can rid the system of the 'good' bacteria in the digestive tract. The 'kidney' and 'liver' cleanses are really risky as well, just fyi. It's better to increase one's fiber intake (slowly though as to not get stomach gas/upset) with whole grain (should say '100% whole grains or whole grains') bread and legumes and fruits and veggies. Steer clear of laxatives as they can be physically addictive and can damage the digestive tract too. If having chronic constipation, please talk with dr about it and perhaps get a referral to a gastroenterologist (GI) dr.

I want a little jump start to shedding pounds and starting a healthier life style. I did a little reasearch on the above but i dont know what brands are cheap quick and effective.. please don't be fooled by colon cleaning products or laxatives. Your body does this naturally, no matter what it is that you eat. Most doctors believe that colon cleansing might actually be bad for you.

Now I can understand why it would be a bad idea for someone pregnant but why for someone breastfeeding. I currently nurse my 3 month old and would like to continue until he is 1 years old.
I thought the cleanse just cleans out your colon and Im not sure waht other "toxins" would be coming out of my body (are they saying through my milk???). If anyone has some insight, I would appreciate it.

If you are eating properly why in the world would you (or anyone) need to cleanse your colon?????
Your body is a well devised machine and naturally takes care of itself as long as you eat well, exercise and get plenty of rest.
Sometimes these gimmicks can do more harm than good. Forget it...these companies are just trying to get your money.
Drink water. It will cleanse your body naturally.

Has anyone tried cleansing their colon completely? I don't mean just simply eating more fiber, but a fully natural colon cleansing that includes fasting on water, juices, raw fruits and vegetables etc. I read it can take anywhere from 3-4 weeks or up to two months. Does anyone have any colon cleansing recipes or tips?
