Colon Cleanse Constipation

however I do take medication on a daily basis and don't know if that will interfere with the cleanse and does anyone know a good one and how it works? Any info would be appreciated.

I would consult with a naturopath. It sounds like it could be your thyroid. They have homeopathic for it, and they do actually work. They can tell you if it will interfere with your other medication as well.

I am thinking of getting a colon cleanse as I have been experiencing constipation for a while now. What I need to know is how does a colon cleanse help the body and how effective is it? Also, is it worth the money and how long would I have to use it?

I was recently told that I was full of crap! I pondered this question for a moment or two, then headed straight to you, the insightful ones.

So how is one to know if they are truly in need of a cleansing, or as what a colonic preveyor may refer to as detoxification.

Now, if my schooling taught me anything, it was that the colon, also called the large intestine follows the small intestine and comprises the end of the gastrointestinal tract. Now, we learned that most nutrients from food are absorbed in the small intestine. This would entail the colon to absorb water and salts from the stool while it pushes it along through the rectum. Correct?

I have been having a lot of problems with recurring constipation and have wanted to try a colon cleanse to get rid of the compacted stools. I just have a feeling that there are stools that are stuck in my bowels. My diet isn't terrible but isn't good either. Can you give an natural recommendations or commercially available colon cleanses that would loosen the compacted stools? I have seen a bunch of websites that try to see these. Which is good for this?

Any "colon cleanse" that you buy is most likely just a laxative, which will indeed cleanse your colon temporarily but will not solve your problem. Your constipation is most likely due to your diet. You need to increase the amount of fiber you eat. The best sources of fiber are vegetables, and to a lesser extent whole grains and fruit (mostly in the peels).
