you tell the dr you are sick he says dont worry about it then you die of colon cancer and liver cancer is dr at fault
I believe, in this case, he would be liable.
You are coming to doctor to provide you
with a service. Once you are in his office,
you are under his care and he is being paid,
by you, for his service. If you told him
your symptoms and he knows you are
sick and does nothing...then...in my opinion..he should be held accountable.
He would not be held accountable...if you
were "not" under his care and he was just
there.
Lina Kirovski was diagnosed with Colon Cancer in August 2008. It was found out that it has metastasized to the liver. Here she is in November 2009 ...
Xeloda tablets daily and Avastin 2xmonth intervenous. How effective is this as a primary treatment for colon cancer that has matastized to the liver. Cancer is inoperable and also harsher chem/radiation regimens are not possible due to poor health and severe renal problems. Cancer was operated on some time back so it is not present in the colon. Just the liver.
I don't really know, but for what it's worth, I've included you in prayers to Jehovah God that he portion out some Holy Spirit upon you to help you deal withwhat you're going through.
God Bless and thanks for reading.

Father has just been diagnosed with colon cancer and it has metastasized to liver. Extremely worried about him. Anyone know someone or is going through anything similar that can give some hope?
Honestly, its better you consult a specialist. I really want to help but I don't think I can give better answers than specialist do. Sorry.
good luck

My father is 56 yrs old, and he has just been diagnosed with colon cancer. The size of the tumor is the size of a golf ball. It was caught early, i was told anyways. He went in to see if the cancer had spread and had a full body ct scan done and they found a cyst that is the size of the top part of your thumb. The dr.s believe it is cancer. My father did have hepatitus b once before because of the vietnam war. Also has high blood pressure, and thats his only health issues. He is 5-10, 170wt. My dad tells me little, i looked on internet and it sounds like Metastatic liver disease except that he has not had any of the symptoms yet. My ? is what is fixen to happen, what is his chances of surviving all of this, and how long. Please no b.s. I would really like to know from some doctors on here or someone with experience. They did a biopsy on the colon tumor and it came back inconclusive, but the doctors said that they believe it may be cancer. What do u think?
I am not a doctor, but I am a nurse. Keep in mind that this is only my opinion.
For colon cancer (which usually stays encapsulated in the colon itself) it may be possible to remove the cancerous section of the colon and create a colostomy (where part of the colon is placed through the skin onto the outside of the body and bowel movements would be caught in a bag). This is, of course, dependent upon how far his cancer has progressed and what type it is. If his cancer is a fast growing, progressive type, the doctors are also most likely going to do chemotherapy.
If the spot on his liver is cancer, it is possible to do a liver resection (where they remove a wedge of the liver). You cannot live without your liver, so they couldn't remove it all.
Hepatitis B can cause cirrhosis of the liver and if you have Hep B you have an increased chance of developing liver cancer.
So, in answer to your question, it depends on what type of cancer your father has and how the doctors treat it. I cannot tell you how long he has to live, but I would suggest you love him each and every day.
when colon cancer spreads to the liver, what is it called?
When a type of cancer originates in one area and moves into another or grows to a point and becomes "metastatic" it is called by the original site of the cancer. So in this case, it is colon cancer that has moved into the liver so genetically speaking, it is still "colon cancer".
The cells have moved on and multiplied and traveled from of the orignal site to new places in the body. Another example is lung cancer that may move to the breast or liver, or vise versa, it is still ok to call it by the original site or organ it has invaded. Many times if left unchecked it ends up in the bones, so you could also say it has metastisized into bone cancer.
I won't bore you with genetic addresses but basically research has progressed to a point that each cell is given a name and stage as it divides and multiplies. Research has found genetic addresses in the DNA where the cells originate. When genes in the DNA have been altered or damaged genetically they cause the immune system to faulter. It takes two perfect genes to fight off 1 cancer gene. This is how cancer starts and spreads. It attacks the weaker gene and starts its mutation of the cell and eventually turns into a tumor and kills healthy cells to the point where ther organ fails if not caught in time.
Progression points (markers) have been named as we know, stage 1,2,3,4, and so on depending on how far the cancer has spread and size of the tumor margins for each type of cancer etc. In some cases when the cells invade past the margin of the tumor, it has become insitu,, and spread to lymph nodes we now have a new road for the cancer to spread through the blood stream into the lymph system that can go any place it so chooses into in the body with no way for us to know exactly what direction it will take. It pretty much has a mind of its own. This is why medicine has developed so many different kinds of Chemo therapy and radiation treatments to deal with the patients personal cancer battle plan. Hope this all helps, best wishes!

Heavy drinking linked to increased cancer risk : Cancer Research UK
Canadian scientists have provided more evidence of a link between alcohol consumption and an increased risk of cancer.
A team of researchers at McGill University and the University of Montreal studied data which had originally been collected in Montreal in the 1980s for a large occupational cancer study.
The information contained details of participants' drinking habits, as well as their job histories, smoking status, dietary habits and socioeconomic status.
Analysis revealed that people who regularly drank large amounts of beer and spirits tended to face a much higher-than-average risk of developing cancer.
Those who drank the most had a sevenfold increased risk of oesophageal (food pipe) cancer; an 80 per cent higher risk of bowel cancer; and a 50 per cent heightened risk of lung cancer.
