Please go to www.myspace.com/dmsteach and sign my guestbook. I am a stage III colon cancer survivor, diagnosed at the age of 41. Please help this cause. We need to let the legislators and everyone else know that Colon Cancer is preventable to even people under 40 where more are getting diagnosed.
Word of mouth and how about putting up a information sheet up on the boards at your local library?, as this will be a great place for education on the subject.
I have a brother in law dying from bowel cancer and where they operated on his bowel, well the scar turned cancerous, then it went to his spine, now its in his lungs and it looks like its making its way to his brain.
As many of you know, I lost my husband Jay to colon cancer ten years ago. Since then, colon cancer awareness and prevention has been a cause near ...
My bestfriends mother just died recently due to colon and liver cancer, leaving her two young daughters behind. And I thought it would be a nice thing to do if we could walk in something. Like for example, something like 'a race for the cure' but thats for breast cancer. My grandmother also was diognosed with colon cancer, and ive been looking for something like this for a long time, but could never find anything. I live in scranton, PA. and we could find anything with in a 45 minute ride at the most, that would be wonderful. Please help
have you tried googling it and see if there is anything in your area?
I am doing a study on Colon Cancer Awareness. I am comparing awareness at a local level to a national scale. Since the local percentage is probably lower than the national, I designed my survey in such a way that could suggest that the reason for the lower percentage would be because of lack of awareness. Based on this, what would be my independent and dependent variables?
I'm a LITTLE confused by your question- it sounds like your hypothesis ("reason") is that the lower local percentage of colon cancer awareness is caused by... lack of awareness. Not a very interesting hypothesis, being circular and all.
But perhaps you mean to simply test whether local awareness actually IS lower than it is nationally? In that case, your dependent variable would be some measure of awareness gathered from your survey, and the independent variable would be location (local vs. non-local). You would have to administer your survey to both both local and non-local populations.
It's best to really tightly pin down exactly what the hypothesis is that you want to test. This will help you identify the dependendant variables (outcomes) and the independent variables (the factors you think may be affecting the outcome).

should they recognize it because of it being more common in men?
What a great idea rainbow. Let us make next month colon cancer awareness month.
In all seriousness, colon cancer is common among women and men.
Did you know that man can actually get breast cancer?
Edit: In Love with Ashley--please get your facts straight. The most common cancers in adults are: skin cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer
Edit: Nascar recognizes prostate cancer awareness week. FYI. The Petty's have a lot to do with it.

Support Breast Cancer Awareness, Get Banned! [UPDATED] | Hot ...
Slim135 over on the forzamotorsport.net forums posted that he was banned for putting a bumper sticker on his car in Forza that had the word “Breast” in it to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Slim135 claims to be a supporter of the Susan G Komen foundation and was going to sell the bumber stickers(in game) and donate $1 for every one he sold, and donate up to $500. While I don’t play Forza myself, I’m pretty sure users can sell items for in game credit. Seems like a pretty nice thing to do. He says he is still going to donate the $500.
A reply to his first post said, “Surely you could have done the pink ribbon without the B word?”and while I agree with this, I also disagree because the context which Slim used the word “breast.” In that regard, it should not have been a bannable offense. Another user on the forum in the thread later says, “if they can say *** cancer awareness on morning TV I think its save to say its ok to have it on your forza 3 car”(yes they *** breast).
