My friend's boyfriend is having severe muscle tension (mostly in his shoulders) and tension migraines. He is also vomiting and is sensitive to light. They are going to the doctor soon but we want to help relieve the pain he is in before that. Does anyone know of some natural remedies we can use, or perhaps some OTC cures? We need something affordable, something we can run to the local supermarket and get. He is already taking Excederin and soaking in hot water and Epsom salt, but we need something to ease his stomach and muscles more. Any help is greatly appreciated :)
Natural remedies are always iffy because there's no guarantee of the quality of the product you're using, many remedies (despite heavy-duty marketing) flat out don't work, and they tend to be needlessly expensive.
First of all, I would get him off the Excedrine as it contains caffeine. Caffeine can cause mild to moderate muscle tension and nausea, so get rid of it. A good OTC medicine for muscle pain is tylenol or naproxen (Aleve).
Regarding the nausea and muscle tension, there's an OTC drug that can treat both of those symptoms. It's called Dimenhydrinate, and is also called "Dramamine." It's for motion sickness, and it so happens that it has muscle relaxing properties. A very similar drug is Diphenhydramine (the active ingredient in Benadryl and most OTC sleeping pills).
Combining a pain reliever like tylenol with an anti-emetic (which means anti-nauseant) like Benadryl or Dramamine, and your friend should find at least some relief. As far as the photosensitity, that's best looked at by a doctor.
Please keep in mind that Dramamine and Benadryl will most definitely cause some drowsiness. If it becomes a problem, you can try Meclizine (aka "Dramamine 2" or "Bonine"). It causes less drowsiness, but also relaxes the muscles less.
I'd be willing to bet that the hot bath, some Dramamine, and some tylenol would provide great relief. This would be a good night-time remedy. During the day, you could do the same but substitute Dramamine with Dramamine 2 (or Bonine) to combat drowsiness.
Did you know that Tylenol PM contains both the tylenol and the diphenhydramine? That might save him some money!
In any case, he should really stop taking the Excedrine. It makes me nauseous and gives me the shakes.
From bee stings to motion sickness, Better has a few tried and true home remedies.
I have repeatedly terribly low blood pressure and I need some home or natural remedies for this. It is usually anywhere from 110/ 75 to 90 over 60 well I had some pretty scary readings this morning. Close to the point where I would be going into shock. SO I need your natural remedies for low blood pressure. Meaning I need to bring my Blood pressure up.
I'm completely uneducated in this regard. So in advance thanks for educating me.
The numbers themselves are one thing, the more important question is what do you FEEL like? If you aren't dizzy or light headed or passing out with those low BP readings, there probably is nothing to worry about
There are some endocrine disorders that can cause low BP, but you would need to have blood tests through your physician to rule those out (TSH and cortisol levels at least)
Since people with high BP are adviced to cut back on salt...it is actually very reasonable for those with symptomatic low BP to make sure they are getting salt in their diet.

I am having an abscess under the skin. I have been taking anti-biotics for it as recommended by the doctor but there is no relief.
I need to know any natural remedies to treat an abscess which is under the skin
I had heard that dipping a washcloth in a hot infusion of chamomile tea does some work. But the abscess just became red and softer. Is it bad or good?
Add 1 cup vinegar to your baths(which you should take every night)
Put a small amount of anti biotic up your nose. I know it sounds gross, but that's what my doctor said to do
If the abscess is not responding to your prescription, then it might be MRSA, an anti biotic resistant strain of abscess. Discuss with your doctor about the possibility of MRSA testing. If it turns out to be MRSA, then they will probably change your prescription. Hopefully that will work.
Also, I know it hurts, but clean it every night. Also, if you're brave enough, STERILIZE your hands and just kinda take the scab off the top of the abscess. This should cause the pus to come out. Clean it up thoroughly, then throw away whatever you used to clean up the pus. This should relieve it a lot.
However, if the abscess does not go away after this, go to your doctor and they will lance it. It hurts, but it makes the abscess go away, and if none of the above stuff works, then your abscess will do nothing but get worse.
And make sure to keep the house clean, especially if you are living with other people.
I have inflamatory oesteo arthritis and it is very painful. Any suggestions for some natural remedies?
I'm not sure where you are from, but here in Canada they have an all natural medicine called "Lakota." It has been a best-seller for years and years here. I tried Glucosamine but it did nothing for myself, personally. Within 2 days of going on Lakota "Rheumatoid Formula" I was virtually pain-free, it was unbelievable. I stopped taking it the past few weeks to see if it really was the Lakota that was making a difference, and the pain has returned so I am going back out to purchase some more at the local drugstore. If you are a non-Canadian resident, I would still ask your local Pharmacist and check out their website. I know how terrible it is to have an auto-immune disease, especially on a bad flare-up day, and I wish you nothing but the best of luck and best of health.
I am a fairly healthy person, blood pressure and iron levels are good. Lately (the past week and a half) I've been having lots fo dizziness and some headaches. My chiropracter hasn't been able to figure out what's causing it yet. Though it could be related to allergies and quitting smoking (smoke free for 3 weeks now). Does anyone have suggestions for natural remedies to dizziness especially?
Hi! Your crown chakra is either being used too much or not enough or you are experiencing "Symptoms of ascension". Mother earth is involved in an energy shift and we're all a part of it. Many, many people have these same complaints and often have other "Symptoms of Ascension ". They visit the Dr. The Dr. runs tests and finds nothing wrong with them. Most likely not a serious thing and should go away. To balance your crown chakras, you can use color therapy. For this, wear the color purple or violet or blue (any shade from royal-navy). Aromatherapy: use fragrances of lavender, clary sage (very strong oil, though, frankincense, tea tree or chamomile. you can also meditate with a clear quartz crystal, amethyst or lapis lazuli. Good luck! Please click on these links. They describe the symptoms of Ascension

Remedies for Jock Itch
Jock itch is a fungal infection caused by a group of fungi called dermatophytes. Jock itch is usually seen in groin and it spreads to inner thighs, genitals and pelvic region. It is more common in men. When the creases in the body get sweat and dirt, these fungi multiplies faster and cause infection. The infected region becomes red with raised rashes.
The person may also experience itching and burning sensation in the groin. When the infection spreads, it leaves a clear looking skin in the middle with raised red edges and thus gives a ring like appearance. The skin on the infected region may flakes and peels.
People sharing the bath towel of an infected person, sharing the clothes, having immunodeficiency diseases are more prone to get this disease. A person who sweats a lot may also have chances to develop jock itch. If the disease is not checked properly then it may cause more troubles.
